Salvation

Scripture

Psalm 3:8

"Salvation belongs to the Lord, Your blessing is upon Your people"

Observation

This verse is a response to Verse 2, where David says Many are they who say of me "There is no help for him in God." David uses this Psalm to say that God is his shield against all of these attacks. David says that "he laid down and slept the Lord sustained him". The fact that David says there are ten thousands of people that are coming after him and he is content because he knows that God has him covered.

Application

In the ESV the term in both verse 2 and verse 8 is Salvation, in the NKJV the term in Verse 2 is help and Verse 8 is Salvation. What is interesting is the Hebrew used here is yĕshuw`ah. I know that yeshua or as we call Him now (Jesus) is my salvation. Jesus is my rock and He will protect me and comfort me, when all else fails. Laying all of my problems at Salvations feet, allows me to sleep better at night. When I lay it all down, I don't have to worry about anything, because Jesus has my back.

Prayer

Jesus, You are always there for me and I know that your Salvation is permanent. Nothing I can do can change your love for me. Continue to protect me and watch over me.
